Give Thanks to God

First Family,

I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones, and that you're taking the time to reflect on everything that you're grateful for. This holiday always reminds me of the story in Luke 17 when Jesus heals ten men with leprosy. If it's been a while since you've read it, I encourage you to take a moment this week to do so. (Luke 17:11-19)

In the story, a group of ten lepers asks Jesus for mercy, and he heals all of them. However, only one of them returns to thank Jesus and give him praise. The other nine continue on their way without acknowledging him. Jesus then asks the one man who returned, "Where are the other nine?" This question haunts me, as it makes me wonder if I would also be among the nine who forget to show gratitude.

Every day, Jesus continues to provide for me in miraculous ways, but I often forget to thank him. This Thanksgiving, I'm reminded that I'm "past due" for acknowledging the Lord with thanksgiving in my heart. Although this week may be busy with many tasks, let us take a moment to express our overdue gratitude to the Lord. It's never too late to pause and thank God for everything He has done for us.

With a grateful heart,
Pastor Robert
