First Family,
Lately, there has been a growing discussion among our community regarding the security measures at FBCA. I want to take a moment to provide an update on the measures we're implementing to ensure our safety.
Our church is taking steps to improve security by forming a Ministry Action Team (MAT). This team, made up of lay leaders, will review a third-party security audit that was completed in September 2022, and decide on implementations. These implementations will include physical security upgrades, team training, and response protocols.
Our team has initiated the process of upgrading and enhancing our security camera monitoring system to guarantee comprehensive coverage and optimal functionality. In addition, we have recently undergone a phone and wireless modernization to ensure communication capabilities on our campus.
We have updated our door-locking protocols for Sunday morning worship and midweek events.
Our team will undergo essential security and safety training, which will primarily concentrate on effectively dealing with challenging individuals and responding to active shooter situations.
As worshippers, we strive to preserve the integrity of our worship but are constantly faced with the harsh reality of the world's brokenness. Thus I would like to take a moment and remind us all of the words of Colossians 1:19-20 “For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” We eagerly anticipate and hope for the return and reconciliation of all things to Christ Jesus our Lord. Come Lord Jesus come.
Servant for His Glory,
Pastor Robert
