Dear First Family,
One of the things we treasure most about our church is the sense of peace and belonging we feel when we gather. It’s important to us that every person, whether visiting for the first time or here every week, feels safe, cared for, and secure when they walk through our doors.
To that end, I want to share with you a new step we’ve taken to help protect and care for our congregation. We've formed a small group of trained volunteers whose goal is to quietly and compassionately serve behind the scenes to help keep us all safe. These individuals are part of our Team First Alert! Their mission is threefold:
Each Team First Alert member has passed a background check and completed training in first aid, CPR, AED usage, and emergency response, including “Stop the Bleed.” You’ll be able to recognize them by their gold oval name tags.
Of course, keeping our community safe is something we all share responsibility for. If you notice a spill, see someone in distress, or observe anything that seems out of place, please don’t hesitate to alert a member of the team.
We’re grateful for this team’s ministry, and I trust this helps you feel even more confident that First Baptist Church is a place where you and your family are cared for in every way.
As always, if you have questions or suggestions, I’d be glad to hear from you.
With gratitude for this team,
Pastor Robert Stephens

- Identify and mitigate risks to minimize accidents, medical emergencies, or situations where people may be harmed or facilities damaged.
- Facilitate, as needed, the introduction of medically trained personnel or law enforcement to a situation.
- Be the “help needed until help arrives.”
