Roger's Music Ministry Updates
April 26, 2017
“Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery, instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spirituals songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Ephesians 5:15-21
We as church musicians love the verses about psalms hymns and spiritual songs and we should love it. Be sure to note the earlier portion that leads into that passage…saying we should be careful how we live. Particularly as worship leaders we need to have live a life of holiness and reflect Jesus in all we think, do and say. What consumes us? The scripture uses too much wine as an example. What we consume fill us and comes out in how we live. When we live each moment for Jesus we are willing to submit to one another for the good of the body of Christ. In this way the world sees Jesus. His WILL is that HE be glorified in all things. Live for Jesus!! Only He can bring light in the darkness of our world.
